I don't have much patience with guys that aren't nice - probably why I'm still single.

When my Mom first recommended the Help, I asked her if it was as good as the Secret Life of Bees, she said better and I'm just going to have to say different. Truth is I really liked them both.Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07589350438200242878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424926316533125557.post-67299173041213404922011-08-04T01:38:09.158-04:002011-08-04T01:38:09.158-04:00I loved it too! I can't wait to see the movie either. PS. I'm glad you got the eye situation take care of! PPS. I listened to The Help on audio and Skeeter was the same reader as Lily from The Secret Life of Bees and her accent drove me CRAZY, but I stuck it out because the readers for Minnie and Aibileen were amazing. But I SO know what you mean about the drawl. AWFUL.Krystalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07519344914798696291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424926316533125557.post-62459887974255924192011-08-03T23:22:50.588-04:002011-08-03T23:22:50.588-04:00Heidi, I'm excited to hear what you think abou...Heidi, I'm excited to hear what you think about the movie.

***SPOILER ALERT***

It was good wasn't it. I especially liked how it ended. There was a nice amount of justice and indication that this really was all just the beginning, for all of the characters. And I'm so glad that Skeeter didn't end up with Stuart - I must be an anti-romantic because I much prefer an ending in which the boy doesn't get the girl but the girl goes on the better for it. Romantic stories are a dime a dozen and I liked the romance in this book, just glad to see that it didn't dominate. I was just so happy for her (even though she's just a fictional character). I like her gumption.Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07589350438200242878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424926316533125557.post-18510628467153768872011-08-03T19:17:20.788-04:002011-08-03T19:17:20.788-04:00by far one of the best books! I am so excited to see the movie next weekend. I love this story.Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com
